As for family time, it has been a blessing spending much more time with my son & wife. Before COVID, I worked 10-12 hour days, but now my brewery hours have smeared out so that I’d be gone from home shorter stretches of time. It’s the first time since my son was born that I can feel and participate in the rhythm of his day. My wife has been full steam in the kitchen and now that it’s warming up I will be helping her in the yard.
I’ve also been learning Adobe Illustrator and started designing come can labels. We had a number of beers that we planned to release as draft only but with bars and restaurants closed, we quickly needed to shift these into can format. I am getting better and more creative with the tools, (but) you can definitely tell my labels from our artists!
I’m (looking forward) to hearing the taproom abuzz again. There’s something special about the gentle roar of many conversations taking place over good beer. I miss coming out of the brewery at the end of a long (and often solitary) brew day and seeing that … chatting with regulars and having a pint before heading home.”
