“This has been an emotional roller coaster for sure, but I’ve been blessed with great support. At first I was very worried because orders and events were being cancelled, but I kept my daughter and I busy with baking. Watching my daughter decorate her own cookies and bring her ideas to live made me want to offer something similar and interactive for both parents & kids. I started to make ready-to-bake Do logs & they have been a hit!

Aside from baking, I’ve been able to pick up other interests that I haven’t had time to focus on. This has been a difficult time for me to find peace of mind and it was suggested I pick up on meditation. Since I’m usually a night owl, I changed my routine to wake up earlier, boil a pot of water, and start my morning with yoga & meditation. I deal with anxiety & depression and this has made my days much easier.

I’ve also been growing & collecting plants. It’s been therapeutic to wake up in the morning, walk over to my little plant babies, and open up their windows so they can be showered with the morning rays. I’ve caught myself spending quite some time tending and talking to my plants lately & I love it!

It’s difficult to figure out how to feel grateful during times like these, but if you take a step back and look at the world around you, there is so much good that we hardly take the time to see. Each day I get a smile on my face through my Facebook timeline because it’s the first time in a long time the majority of my feed radiates positivity… it makes me happy to see my friends and our community are trying their hardest to offer help whenever possible.

I’m looking forward to looking for our first home, hugging my loved ones, and bringing my ideas for Naked Cupcake to life — I’ve got so many ideas to share with each and every one of my lovely supporters!”
