We know that due to COVID-19, the number of people in need of menstrual supplies is greater than ever. Although my flexibility has been more limited during this pandemic, I am lucky enough to have a team that can hold down donation drop offs and make sure menstrual supplies are getting out there to the growing number of people in need.

Like many others, my day to day has been flipped on its head. With a husband that is an essential worker covering 12 hour shifts, I am homeschooling my 5 year old while taking care of a 1 year old and trying to run my business. The plus side is I’ve been able to slow things down for a bit and focus on my kids. Despite the stress of the pandemic, I’ve had some of the most memorable family moments during this time.

Although it’s been difficult to take time away from Chicago Period Project, the extra family time has helped me get through things. I’m not one to ask for help, but it’s really comforting to see my support system — whether it’s friends checking on me, CPP handling extra work, or family offering extra facetime calls to keep the kids entertained. Yes, times like these can be super hard mentally, but I think it’s important for us to dig deep and focus on the good. The extra support has shown me I’m one lucky mama to have a group of loved ones there for me.

With the pandemic and the injustices the world has shown us lately, I’m really looking forward to just hanging with loved ones. I can’t wait to sit with each other and talk, be kind, and figure out how we can better ourselves and better the world around us.
